How does Charted utilise AI?
Data privacy and confidentiality are paramount. So we only use AI to enable your chat conversations with Charlie, the Charted career planning assistant. We don't use AI to process your assessment answers. Your downloadable assessment report and the recommendation of best-fit next-step options will always be determined according to Charted's hard-programmed, human-designed decision logic.

How we handle your assessment answers
Charted is built by attorneys, who think like you. The answers you submit during your assessment are processed using the set of logic rules that we've created to work out what your best-fit next steps are. It's very much a human-informed, logic-based assessment, with no AI involvement. This decision logic also generates the development recommendations proposed for you and your specific situation.
If you pause the assessment before completion, we'll save your answers for up to a month, so you can return to them and continue from where you were. After this time, answers will be deleted. Similarly, once you've completed the assessment and received your report, your answers are no longer required and we'll delete them.
How we handle your Charted career planning chat
We need to store your personalised assessment report and development recommendations for a certain time to enable you to engage in meaningful conversations with Charlie, our AI-enabled career planning assistant — in a way that helps you explore your options, and supports your thinking and planning.
While you're using Charted, some of your initial assessment answers around your career ambitions, what's personally important to you and the type of work you prefer to do will also be stored to properly inform your chats with Charlie. Securely storing this baseline information enables us to ensure you're always able to pick up and continue a chat any time you need a sounding board.
